This black onyx 108 bead mala with turquoise and conch shell spacers that have the Buddhist prayer for compassion carved into it, “om mani padme hum”. Black onyx is known for its grounding and relaxing properties as well as the ability to release negative emotions. Black onyx resonates with the base/root chakra. Turquoise dissipates negative energy, protects the wearer from outside influences/pollutants, and aids in absorption of nutrients. Turquoise resonates with the throat chakra. The black onyx and conch shell beads measure approximately 8mm each and the turquoise beads measure about 6mm each; however, the size of the beads may vary slightly due to their handmade nature.
Prayer beads are usually used for meditation, counting mantras, and prostration. Malas are worn on the left or right wrist while not in use (the wrist it is worn on is typically determined by the mantra or practice). Please contact us with further questions.
