For centuries Tibetans have hung prayer flags on mountain tops, homes, stupas and temples. The prayers written on the flags are released out to the universe as the wind blows through them.  As the images and prayers fade from the flags, they become a part of the universe.  New flags are often hung on auspicious days and during celebrations.

This listing is for an extra large roll of White Umbrella Buddha prayer flags, 27 feet long. In Tibetan, this buddha is known as Dhukkar. These prayer flags are printed using traditional Tibetan wood block methods in Kathmandu Nepal. There are five different colors, yellow, green, red, white, blue, representing the five elements.

The name Ushnisha Sitatapatra translates as "The Victorious White Parasol". She is known as the White Umbrella Goddess (Buddha of Protection) who saves us from all harm. Her parasol symbolizes protection from natural catastrophes, diseases, spirit harm and all forms of misfortune. Ushnisha Sitatapatra is also a female form of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. She has a thousand eyes that watch over all living beings and a thousand arms to protect and assist them. Chanting her mantra invokes extremely powerful protection.

White Umbrella mantras:

"TADYATHA OM ANALE ANALE
KHASAME KHASAME BHAIRE BHAIRE
SAUME SAUME SARVA BUDDHA
ADHISHTHANA ADHISHTHITE SOHA"

"OM SARVA TATHAGATA USHNISHA
SITATA - PATRE HUM PEH
HUM MAMA HUM NI SOHA"

I will use these flags around my garden to discourage deer from eating my vegetables as well as sending prayers out to the all. They are simply beautiful.
