This listing is for a 108 bead raktu seed mala for meditation. On one of my trips to Nepal I came across the raktu seed, known as "the bodhi seed's brother" because the tree they fall from is similar to the bodhi tree. At this time, small bodhi seeds are very rare and therefor very expensive. This size raktu seeds provides a nice and affordable alternative to the small bodhi seed. Each of the beads measure approximately 7-8mm, but may vary slightly in size due to their handmade nature.
Prayer beads are usually used in Tibet, Nepal, and India for meditation, counting mantras, and prostration. Malas are worn on the left wrist while not in use. Please contact me with any further questions.
Suggested Mantras for this mala:
"Om Muni Muni Maha Muni ye soha" to Lord Buddha Shakyamuni
